Kent 16+ Travel Card

16+ Kent Travel Card

For the current Year 11 starting our Sixth Form in September 2017 and those in year 12, wishing to travel to school by bus they will be able to apply for a 'Kent 16+ Travel Card' directly to Kent County Council, either on-line or by post. Please see the information on the right.

Payments must not be sent to KCC with applications but should be made to the school. Travel Cards will not be released to students until payment has been received. The full cost of the Card is £400.00 and payment may be made by cash, cheque (made payable to 'The Norton Knatchbull School') or via the online payment facility (please note that new students to the school will not be able to use the online payment facility until the first day of term; online link codes will be issued to new students at the start of term).

If you apply by the deadline set by KCC (14th July 2017), the travel card will be sent to the school for collection on the first day of term.  KCC has agreed for bus operators to allow all students to travel for free for the first few days of term without any proof of purchase.

If you apply after the deadline, please note that applications can take up to 28 working days to be processed.  The travel card will be sent to the school as soon as possible and we will advise students when it is available.

The school does have a 16-19 bursary fund which may provide some financial assistance in meeting the costs of the card. If you wish to apply for a Bursary, please refer to the guidelines for the 2017/18 scheme which will be published shortly on our web site or refer to the Finance Office.
