Iceland 2017 - How to register

We will be visiting Iceland during the Easter holidays (2017), a spectacular landscape of Ice and Fire. The trip is open to years 11 to 13 and will complement our Geography GCSE and A-level specifications and will incorporate elements of Energy, Tourism, Plate Tectonics and Coasts – all topics involved in their GCSE and A Level courses, as well as providing the opportunity for those not studying the course to simply explore other amazing sights which can be found in Iceland. Visits will include a chance to see the Mid Atlantic ridge where they will be able to straddle the American and Eurasian plates at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Thingvellir National Park. We will visit several waterfalls, various glaciers and the black sands of Iceland’s south coast, its geothermal energy production and spectacular wilderness areas are all sights which the students will remember forever!  The trip will also provide time to spend a few hours relaxing at the world renowned Secret Lagoon spa.

The cost of the trip will be £1000 which includes flights, insurance, coach travel to the airport and in Iceland, tour guides, trip accommodation, all trips and all meals.  We appreciate that this is a lot of money but assure you that it will be most certainly worth it.

If you are interested in taking part in this trip you need to collect a letter from Mrs Dryland in M4 and return it by Monday (26th September).
