Sue Kelly-740

On the 2nd March 2018, Sue Kelly, Deputy Headteacher was awarded the National Professional Qualification for Headship.

Sue began the programme in September 2016 and initially attended five training days in London alongside a series of online study units.

This was followed by a whole school project at The Norton Knatchbull School focusing on improving teaching and learning across the school, where the current ‘ACE’ programme was developed. A second whole school project was undertaken at Homewood School, where Sue worked with staff and the Principal to create a sustainable improvement plan for whole school assessment. The third part of the training programme focused on resource management.

All aspects of the programme contributed to the overall assessment. This also included a final interview process which took place in London in January 2018. It involved a ten-minute presentation on resource management, followed by a further hour of questions from the panel.

Sue passed all elements of this comprehensive training programme successfully and was thus deemed ready for Headship.
