Celebrating our OFSTED success 2017!

 Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you have now had an opportunity to take a look at our latest OFSTED 2017 report, which gives us much to be proud of and also confirms the areas which we knew we needed to work on further.

Since our last inspection in November 2012, we have made significant improvements to all areas of the School’s work and it is very pleasing that inspectors recognised this. We are particularly delighted that we have continued to provide such a good quality of education to our students in an increasingly challenging and ever changing national educational landscape.

We aim to teach our young people to appreciate learning in a wide range of areas and inspire them to succeed academically. The report makes it clear that this is one of our strengths. We are ambitious for our students and they are right to expect the highest standards from us. We are keen to ensure that all our students achieve their potential and this will remain a key area of focus for us in the future.

We also strive to equip our young people with the skills, attributes and values that will make them thrive as individuals and prepare them to be valuable members of their community. We are delighted that the strength of our personal development, pastoral care and safeguarding work was recognised by inspectors and we will continue to place the highest importance on these aspects.

We are incredibly proud of our sixth form students who received well-deserved praise for their studious attitude, business-like demeanour and high ambitions. We will continue to work hard with them to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, a wide range of exciting extra-curricular opportunities, challenging and engaging teaching and focused guidance and preparation for post-18 pathways.

Governors, staff and I will not stand still in our work and ambition, and we look forward to working ever more closely with students and parents to improve the School further.

Best wishes,

Susanne Staab
