Visit by Japanese trainee teachers

On Monday and Tuesday this week we hosted a group of thirteen trainee teachers from Japan who are developing their English skills. After visiting a range of NKS lessons during the mornings, they taught a range of sessions on Japanese language and culture to our Year 8 students in the afternoons. The boys learned about and practised Japanese calligraphy, origami, the traditional game of Kendama as well as learning some conversational Japanese. Very impressive it was too.

Stephen Yates, who brought the Japanese guests from Chaucer College in Canterbury commented: “The students had an amazing experience, and your pupils certainly looked as if they really enjoyed the workshops, as always.”

We look forward to further work with students and teachers from Japan next year as part of our role as an International School.
